The ZZ Dogs are having a creative story contest. Send them your best story and/or picture story. The winning stories will be published right here on the ZZ Dogs web site for the world to see! Winners will be posted right here on the ZZ Dogs Web Site, on October 31, 2003, at 5:00 p.m., PST.

The story must include a dog, or an animal.

Create a story using words (500 to 1000 words maximum) or
Create a story using illustrations or drawings or
Create a story using both words and drawings!

Dear Parent or Guardian:

By signing the release form below you consent to give your child permission to submit a story and/or artwork to ZZ Dogs Press that may be posted on our website. You understand that we do not guarantee that your child's writing/artwork will be posted and that submissions will not be returned.

ZZ Dogs' web site is designed purely for the enjoyment of our audience. The personal information we ask for, which includes your child's name, age, and state of residence, helps us identify and organize the submissions we receive. In keeping with industry guidelines for children's safety and privacy online, we collect this personal information only to help identify your child's story and/or artwork. We do not use this information for any commercial purpose whatsoever.

Please complete this form and include it with your child's submission.

I hereby grant to ZZ Dogs Press and its related and affiliated entities ("That's Life Publishing"), for good and valuable consideration, the absolute and irrevocable right and license with respect to the manuscript story and/or artwork and all related content that is created as part of ZZ Dogs' website (www.zzdogs.com) administered by and for ZZ Dogs Press and others (the "Material"):

a. To display, exhibit, transmit and distribute the Material on the ZZ Dogs' World Wide Web site known as zzdogs.com and allow others to view, use and/or download the Material;

b. To use my first name and age in connection with the Material; and

c. To use, publish and distribute the Material in any and all media now known or hereafter developed, in whole or in part, individually or in conjunction with other Materials, photographs, images or text, and for any purpose whatsoever, including without limitation illustration, promotion, advertising and publicity.

I acknowledge that ZZ Dogs Press and others may use the Material in accordance with the permission granted herein without any payment to the undersigned or any third party. I represent and warrant that I am the sole proprietor of all rights in and to the Material; that I have full power and authority to grant the rights granted to ZZ Dogs' Press herein; that I have obtained all rights, consents and permissions, including but not limited to those of persons appearing in the Material, necessary to grant the rights granted herein; and that the use of the Material by Scholastic Inc. as set forth above shall not violate or infringe upon the rights of any individual or entity. I also acknowledge that similar or identical material may be submitted or developed by others or ZZ Dogs Press, to which I will not be entitled to any compensation. I hereby waive all rights of inspection or approval of the Material used by ZZ Dogs. I hereby release, discharge and agree to hold harmless ZZ Dogs and those acting under its permission or authority, from any and all claims, demands or liabilities arising out of or in connection with the use, production or reproduction of the Material, including without limitation any claims for invasion of privacy or publicity. I also understand that the Material which I submit will not be returned to me.
